How do I connect Nicovape® Q to my smartphone more easily and reliably?

Nicovape® Q connects to your smartphone through its NFC scanner. This guide will help you to develop the knack for tapping in.

Tapping into your smartphone with Nicovape®Q can be a little hit-and-miss at first, but by following these simple steps, you'll quickly be able to do it without thinking.

1. If you are using an Android phone, make sure your NFC is turned "on" in the settings.

Android, but not Apple, allows its users to turn the NFC on or off. Check it's turned on by doing the following:

  1. On your Android device, open the Settings app.
  2. In the search bar, type “NFC.”
  3. Make sure that the NFC setting is toggled on.

2. Know where your smartphone's NFC antenna is located

Depending on which brand of smartphone you use, its NFC antenna will be located at the top of the middle of the phone.

Android phones (Samsung, Google, Oppo, Motorola, Nokia, Vivo and others)

The location of the NFC antenna on Android phones can vary, but it is typically found in the middle or upper-middle section at the back of the device.

3. Know where Nicovape® Q's NFC antenna is located.

Look for the NFC logo on the Nicovape® Q, which is on the side without the LED. The antenna is directly behind this logo.

4. Tap into myNicovapeQ!

Hold Nicovape Q by the cartridge in one hand with the NFC logo facing you.

With your other hand, take your smartphone and line up its antenna area (see above) with the NFC logo on Nicovape® Q.

Bring the two together, ensuring the Nicovape® Q NFC is in the centreline of the phone. If successfully connected, you should see a notification on your phone to open your web browser.

Tap this notification. If your phone is not already unlocked, you will need to unlock it at this point.

5. If it didn't work?

Repeat the process above, moving the smartphone slightly higher or lower until it connects. When you get a successful connection, make a mental note of how far up your phone the device was when it paired.

Once you've found the sweet spot, do it a few more times to get the muscle memory. You'll quickly get the knack and be able to tap in without thinking.
